news - tekken: blood vengeance playing one night only tomorrow night!

You heard it right! The fully CGI rendered Tekken: Blood Vengeance will be playing in select theaters tomorrow night only, and it just happens that two of those theaters are here in Baton Rouge. Playing at 7:30 p.m. at both Citiplace 11 and Cinemark in Perkins Rowe, this will be your only chance to see the movie before it's released as part of the Tekken Hybrid pack later on this fall. Added bonus, the viewing will be in 3D! Following the presentation, there will be an added 20 minute segment that includes interviews with the Tekken project director and screenwriter.

For the last 9 years, I feel like the Mortal Kombat series has been hindered in the 3D realm. Last generation's hardware held back the series from being something truly great. The 3D-style movement wasn't a bad addition to the series, but it never really felt like "Mortal Kombat" to me. To top it all off, the series' first next gen release was so censored and toned down that I can't even consider it a true Mortal Kombat game.
